Join the MA Arts Funders Network for a funder briefing: Culture & Community in a Time of Transformation - Focus on MA.
This community research project is a specialized investigation commissioned by the Barr Foundation & conducted by the team at Slover Linett Audience Research that extends the learnings from the national initiative with a focus on Massachusetts. 
The session will start with a presentation of the report findings, which will ground a lively discussion of activation of these findings in the arts and culture sector. We hope you’ll bring your voice to the table to share and reflect in this discussion with funders across the state.
Guiding questions for this research include:
  • How could cultural organizations support their communities in MA during such unprecedented times? What kind of changes do people want to see among arts and culture organizations in the future?
  • How have patterns of engagement with arts and culture shifted in MA? What roles could the arts, creativity, community engagement, and other forms of culture play in the hard work ahead?
  • To what extent do MA residents believe systemic racism is present in MA arts and culture organizations? In which genres?
  • Do MA residents want arts and culture organizations to address social issues in their communities? If so, which ones?
This meeting of the MA Arts Funders Network is in partnership with the Barr Foundation and Slover Linett Audience Research.

About the Network:

Massachusetts Arts Funders' Network bi-monthly meetings provide a learning opportunity on an issue or trend facing the arts and cultural community coupled with a chance to network and update colleagues on their current work, challenges, and opportunities in a roundtable format.

Zoom information: Zoom information for the program will be sent out to all registrants one week before AND in the afternoon of the business day before the session is scheduled to take place.  Please reach out to info@philanthropyma.org if you believe you are registered for this program and do not receive the link.

Registration & Program Follow-up Materials: Registration for the program will be closed at 2pm EST on the day before the program is scheduled to take place.  If you register after this point, you will be added to the waitlist and will be able to receive the program recording as well as all follow-up materials from the session.  For fee-based Nonprofit Partner programs, you can request these materials for a discounted rate.  Please note that it may take up to a week to prepare and disseminate those materials to all registrants.
