Funder Briefing: What to Expect This Summer - From National Trends to Local Insights

As we look ahead to the summer months, join the Summer Fund for a timely donor briefing exploring what to expect this season — from national trends to local insights, including how youth-serving organizations are responding to growing mental health needs among young people.

We are pleased to welcome Aaron Dworkin, CEO of the National Summer Learning Association, who will provide a national perspective on the evolving landscape of summer learning and youth development.

This context setting will be followed by a conversation with Summer Fund partners Alexandra Oliver-Davila (Executive Director of Sociedad Latina) and Kathy Lafferty (Executive Director of South Boston Neighborhood House), moderated by Sean Higgins, Director of the Summer Fund. Together, they will share what they are seeing on the ground and how organizations are adapting their programs to support the well-being of young people this summer.

We will also highlight how the Summer Fund is positioning its work to meet this moment and share opportunities for engagement during our 55th anniversary year.

Program Highlights:
  • National perspective on summer learning trends
  • Local insights from Summer Fund partners
  • Discussion on youth needs and program responses, particularly around mental health supports
  • Opportunities to engage with the Summer Fund
Who Should Attend:

Donors and other funders interested in advancing access to high-quality summer opportunities for young people across Greater Boston — particularly those looking to better understand and support the behavioral health and well-being of youth.
