Grantmakers for Effective Organizations Grantmakers for Effective Organizations borrows it's latest definition of capacity building from the authors of the article Transformational Capacity Building, defining it as the, “Process of building and strengthening the systems, structures, cultures, skills, resources and power that organizations need to serve their communities”. This also includes the funding and technical assistance to help nonprofits increase specific capacities to deliver stronger programs, take risks, build connections, innovate and iterate.

Have you ever wondered what range of activities might fall into this broad definition and how you might best make a case for a Capacity Building grant? If so, this program is for you!

Join Philanthropy Massachusetts as we welcome a variety of grantmakers who fund capacity building activities within an array of topic areas and learn what they see as activities that fall into this bucket.

Our team includes:

Moderator

Mareeha Niaz, Director of Programs, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations

Panelists

The program will begin with an intro of the panelists and their foundations and get their thoughts on what activities they see as fitting into this category of grants. We will ask them how a nonprofit can make an effective case for capacity building and then open up to questions from attendees. We will spend the final 30 minutes in small group meet-and-greets with individual panelists where you can give a brief hello or ask a follow up question.

Whether you are new to development or a seasoned pro, Meet-the-Donors is a great opportunity to get current and accurate information about the participating foundations, as well as a chance to connect with your peers.

Registration closes at 2 pm on Friday, October 6th. Please view the Zoom delivery information below.
