Older Adults and Behavioral Health: Challenges and Opportunities

Join the Behavioral Health Funders Network for a conversation about the behavioral health challenges facing older adults across Massachusetts. The primary goals of this session are to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the current behavioral health landscape and the specific hurdles older adults face in Massachusetts;
  • Explore how policies impact our local environment;
  • Review existing programs actively working to address these issues; and
  • Identify actionable strategies for funders to support existing efforts and address unmet behavioral health needs in this population.

This session is designed to provide a comprehensive look at the landscape moving from high-level policy and data-driven insights to concrete, actionable strategies for the funding community. Moderated by Beth Chandler, Executive Director, Point32Health Foundation, this discussion will feature the following panelists:
  1. Cassie Cramer, LICSW, Project Manager for Older Adult Behavioral Health, Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH)
  2. Beth Dugan, PhD, Professor, Gerontology, Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences, The University of Massachusetts Boston
  3. Lynn Vidler, Aging Policy Leader, Assistant Secretary, Massachusetts Executive Office of Aging and Independence
We look forward to your participation and valuable perspective in this vital discussion. The session provides time to hear from panelists and ask questions.
