Program Staff Learning Network: How Advocacy Can Support Your Mission

This networking lunch will feature a panel of experts to help funders understand what advocacy looks like in Massachusetts, how they can begin to engage in advocacy to support the causes they care about, and why that is so important. This is of particular interest to mid-to-senior level program staff who may have the opportunity to build the case internally for this type of grantmaking support. We will learn from:

 
This session is reserved for members of the Program Staff Learning Network and includes time to build relationships and strengthen connections with peer funders in mid-to-senior level program staff roles.  
 
The format for the program will include 30 minutes for lunch/networking, a 45-minute panel conversation and Q&A, then a 15-minute wrap up/networking time. A list of advocacy resources will be shared after the session.

About the Network:

The Learning Network convenes mid to senior level program staff who share elements of a common program staff job description but work across issue areas and types of funding institutions. The purpose of the Learning Network is to create an ongoing, safe space for mid to senior level program staff to learn together, furthering their professional development alongside their peers. To participate in the Learning Network you must meet the following two criteria:
  1. Have worked in a professional setting for at least 10 years.
  2. Currently situated in philanthropy at a foundation or grantmaking program as mid to senior level program staff
