Small Business Development: Funder Learning Collaborative Planning & Strategy Meeting
Over the past several
months, we’ve explored how philanthropy can play a deeper role in supporting
small business growth across Massachusetts. Together, we’ve brainstormed,
exchanged ideas, and learned from key leaders across the small business
ecosystem—ranging from capital providers to business development organizations.
As we approach the new
year, our December meeting will focus on synthesizing these insights and
narrowing our collective scope to a high-impact focus area. We’ll revisit our
shared interests, such as policy advocacy, wealth creation, and innovative
capital approaches and see where the biggest interest and capacity exists. As
we align on a targeted path forward, we will determine any additional learning
needed to amplify our collaborative work.
We look forward to your
input and energy as we plan our next steps!
About the Collaborative:
Together as a group of funders, we will identify needs, set shared goals, and develop strategies to enhance the support system for small businesses in Massachusetts. As a participant, you'll engage in discussions, share insights, and explore innovative solutions with fellow funders, both via Zoom and occasionally in person. Join us if your foundation funds in this area and you have the availability to attend regular Collaborative meetings (approx 6 per year).
Please feel free to reach out to the project manager for this collaborative,
Karleen Porcena, if you have any questions.
