Successful Site Visits: Official Website Release of the Guide!
Maximizing opportunities for informative, collaborative, and productive site visits of funders to nonprofits has been a top focus of Philanthropy Massachusetts for years. Through a yearlong process with funder and nonprofit input, our staff has published a document called “Successful Site Visits: Guidance, Strategies, and Tips for Funder and Nonprofits” to support this goal. It’s full of tips and best practices for making visits by funders successful, efficient, respectful, and beneficial for both parties, and includes some common mistakes to avoid.
We invite you to join us for this 30-minute webinar at which we will introduce and talk you through the guide and other resources to prepare both the funder and prospective/grantee for these events.
We have many people to thank for this primer, which we plan to keep as a living and evolving document as best practices continue to evolve: the many of you who attended meetings in late 2023 and 2024, responded to our survey, and attended a Program Staff Learning Network panel discussion and our program in March 2024 called “Site Visits: Let’s Improve Them!” We particularly want to thank those members of the planning group of funder and nonprofit practitioners who compiled and synthesized learnings from all these meetings and surveys to produce this document.
