State of the Summer: A Briefing for Donors hosted by the Summer Fund
Founded in 1971, the Summer Fund is a donor collaborative that supports summer camps and enrichment programs for underserved youth throughout Greater Boston. The Summer Fund is operated and staffed by Philanthropy Massachusetts and governed by an Advisory Committee. Since its inception, the Fund has provided more than $40 million in resources to build, sustain, and strengthen a network of quality summer programming opportunities.
In 2023, more than 12,000 young people at dozens of programs benefitted from Summer Fund resources. Learn of the Fund’s powerful impact on Greater Boston youth at the Summer Fund’s annual donor briefing from 10-11 AM on March 26th, 2024.
At this event, you can expect a brief presentation from The Summer Fund staff on trends in the sector, as well as information on their approach to grantmaking. One of the Fund’s donors will also share their
rationale for supporting this collaborative giving model. Then, you’ll hear directly from Summer Fund nonprofit partners regarding their perspectives on topical themes in summer enrichment: financial challenges, youth mental health, teens and workforce development, the Summer Fund’s Homeless Campership Fund, and more.
