Summer Fund Partner Convening: Sharing Knowledge on Staff Training, Mental Health, and Data Evaluation

With the school year winding down, Summer Fund partners are preparing for summer programs, many of which are kicking off in a matter of weeks. This session, facilitated by Summer Fund staff with featured guest speakers from the Fund’s network of nonprofit partner organizations, will provide attendees with resources and techniques to think through distinct and timely aspects of their program models, including mental health and staff training.

JOYweavers’ Executive Director, Mia Klinger, will share more information on her camp’s Find Your Flow program, which incorporates trauma-informed techniques into a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) curriculum.

YMCA of Greater Boston’s Regional Vice President of Child Development, Ali Ricketson, will provide attendees with an understanding of her organization’s focus on staff trainings, and techniques other programs can use to best equip their staff for hectic summers.

Phillips Brooks House Association’s Manager of Student Development & Evaluation, Lauren Crispi, will share more information about data evaluation considerations to account for in summer planning to enable attendees to track, measure, and benchmark the success of their programming.

After this set of presentations, speakers will engage in an audience Q&A, giving the audience a chance to learn more about how the session’s topics can be applied to their own programs. Given the content and recommendations being discussed, this program is best suited to Executive Directors, Program Directors, and other director-level staff members at Summer Fund partner organizations. Please contact the Summer Fund by emailing Jaidyn at jappel@philanthropyma.org if you have questions about who from your organization should be in attendance.
