Join this informal meet-up of the Western MA Funders’ Network for a conversation about participatory grantmaking across our region.
The Network’s Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion workplan highlights “identifying ways to modify grantmaking systems to reduce barriers to applying for funding” as one step towards its goal of building racial equity in the region, for and with the most marginalized communities. Participatory grantmaking is a tested approach to doing just that.
We’ll highlight examples of participatory grantmaking from Peace Development Fund and the Women’s Fund of Western MA, reflecting on the ins and outs, learnings and challenges.
The meeting will be loosely structured, prioritizing time for conversation amongst participants.
The session is being planned by:
Emily Serafy-Cox, Foundation Officer, Peace Development Fund
Nicole Young, Community Investments Manager, Women’s Fund of Western MA
Lisa Ranghelli, Trustee, Women’s Fund of Western MA
Zoom information will be sent via email in advance of the session.
