2021 Call for Nominations to Philanthropy MA Board of Directors

Philanthropy Massachusetts is currently seeking candidates for potential Philanthropy Massachusetts Board Directors to begin serving in the fall of 2021. We welcome your nomination of individuals you believe would make a meaningful contribution to Philanthropy Massachusetts and the field of philanthropy. Serving on the Board is a rewarding experience, both personally and professionally, accompanied by leadership responsibilities and a serious commitment to the welfare of Philanthropy Massachusetts.
- be staff, trustees and active leaders in the field of philanthropy
- reflect our diverse membership from all organizational types and geographic regions
- be drawn from the broad range of racial, gender, age and multi-cultural diversity in our community
In particular for 2021, individuals in the following categories are sought: people serving in senior leadership roles at foundations; corporate funders; experience in finance; persons of color; representation from North, Central, and Cape Cod/Islands.
Board terms begin in fall 2021 and are three years (with an option of renewal for a second term). Meetings are held four times per year plus one Annual Meeting, and directors are expected to serve on a committee. Self-nomination is also encouraged. The Governance Committee will review all nominations and recommend a slate for review by the Board of Directors and then election by the Members by Virtual Ballot in lieu of a meeting of the members, due to Covid19 impact on in-person gathering.
