ABOUT THE ADVANCEMENT MANAGER POSITION The One Love Foundation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Advancement Manager who will lead efforts to secure financial support from individuals and foundations in the Boston area. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will work closely with regional team members, centralized advancement team members, senior leaders, volunteers, and regional advisory board members. The Advancement Manager is responsible for meeting quarterly and annual goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a diverse base of donors and foundations. The Manager’s focus will be on engaging a portfolio of donors, providing staff leadership to the Emerging Leaders (volunteers) and developing and executing cultivation and stewardship events and activities. The ideal candidate will be an individual who has had several years of experience cultivating and stewarding donors and engaging them through moves management to initiate and renew their donations to One Love. Key Responsibilities & Outcomes: Donor Management Build relationships with new, current, and lapsed donors to renew their commitment to One Love. Maintain a portfolio of $1k+ donors for whom they will be directly responsible to cultivate, solicit, and steward, to meet individual and organizational fundraising goals. Document and maintain clear and timely records and reports to track contacts, donor giving, and board meeting minutes as well as assist in the maintenance of an accurate database. Support all Individual Giving efforts, including appeals, proposals, and fundraising events, in support of and in coordination with centralized advancement efforts. Prepare research and informational reports for the Executive Director in preparation for individual donor meetings and solicitations. Prospect Generation Work closely with the Advancement team to build a prospect portfolio and ensure the flow of prospects into the giving pipeline, from identification through solicitation. Develop and manage innovative solicitation campaigns, including #GivingTuesday, to engage new individuals within the Boston philanthropic community. Support the efforts of volunteer committees to identify and solicit prospects, with a specific focus on specialty market events. Management of regional networks and advisory boards Lead efforts of the Emerging Leaders Network and provide leadership around all their events, meetings, campaigns, and activities Assist Executive Director with efforts of the Regional Advisory Board and the support around their events, meetings, campaigns, and activities. Cultivation and Stewardship Activities Work with the Executive Director, Advancement team, and key volunteers to develop, execute and evaluate strategies to engage individual donors through outreach, education, invitations to special events, and personal contacts. Leverage One Love events, such as Move for Love, specialty cultivation events, and other select gatherings, to raise awareness and to secure financial resources for our work. Collaborate with the Advancement Team to create and implement donor communications and acknowledgements related to cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects Recommend new engagement opportunities and implements best practices for future activities and strategies. Organizational Initiatives & Site Support Work closely with fellow regional team members to understand priorities and fundraising goals and develop strategies to meet the organization’s needs including securing funds through foundations, government grants, and events. Keep current on regional successes, challenges, and milestones in order to communicate progress to donors. Assist with agenda for and compile minutes of Regional Board meetings. QUALIFICATIONS Passion for One Love’s mission Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years of work experience, including 2-3 years of successful fundraising experience for a nonprofit or educational organization preferred Strong knowledge base of all aspects of fundraising with a strong emphasis on individual giving programs and events Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of volunteers to meet fundraising goals Experience using donor/relationship management software to track donors, establish goals, and generate reports (experience with Salesforce preferred) Experience with or knowledge of donor research tools and methods Exceptional oral and written communication skills with an ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences Excellent organizational skills, strong project management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and think critically Experience with grant proposal writing and reporting a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms required
