The Annual Giving Officer will work closely with the Associate Director of Annual Giving to meet and exceed revenue, participation, retention, and acquisition goals through direct response marketing, crowdfunding campaigns, portfolio management, stewardship initiatives, and data analysis. In collaboration with the Annual Giving team and colleagues across the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Annual Giving Officer will actively participate in the creation and execution of innovative fundraising and engagement strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • With the Associate Director of Annual Giving, develop and implement the Annual Fund multi-channel fundraising plan to increase annual giving and donor participation (including crowdfunding, direct mail, email, and social media); assist with solicitation strategy (messaging, audience, segmentation, timing, and channel) and execution (drafting appeals and other collateral, generating and managing lists, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders) 

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of alumni and parent prospects

  • Participate in ongoing stewardship programs and assist with the creation and implementation of new initiatives

  • Manage and oversee use of digital tools used for solicitation and stewardship (including GiveCampus and Emma) to maximize results; keep abreast of industry best practices and trends as well as successful peer campaigns

  • Prepare and analyze fundraising and donor reports to inform goal-setting, identify trends, and evaluate performance for solicitation and engagement activities; make recommendations for strategic programmatic changes as necessary

  • Maintain Annual Giving data in Raiser’s Edge database and liaise with Advancement Services to ensure data integrity

  • Collaborate with partners in Institutional Advancement and across the College to ensure a cohesive and strategic approach to fundraising and engagement efforts

Your Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support such as processing invoices and fielding inquiries from donors and volunteers

  • As needed, participate in Institutional Advancement activities and events, such as staffing Alumni Weekend and preparing materials for board meetings

  • All other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse range of constituencies

  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and donor databases/CRM systems

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Knowledge of direct response fundraising, annual giving best practices, and emerging trends

You’ll Be Preferred With:

  • Experience in higher education fundraising and annual giving solicitation marketing

  • Experience with writing donor communications such as appeals and acknowledgement letters

  • Experience managing relationships with donors and volunteers

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods

  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time


Grade of Position: A15E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

Hiring Range: $51,100.00 - $53,600.00

This position will be exclusively represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 888 for purposes of wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
