The Ogunquit Playhouse has a great opportunity for a Campaign Research and Grant Writing Associate to join our Development team.  As an integral part of the Development team, the Campaign Research and Grant Writing Associate will perform a range of activities designed to enhance the effectiveness and improve the results of Ogunquit Playhouse’s Campaign fundraising efforts, including donor reporting, prospect research and data management.  This role requires a customer service orientation, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond proactively to changing priorities. The right individual must be collaborative, conscientious, and results-oriented. This role requires a high energy level with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research potential gift prospects, and screen playhouse attendees lists for potential donors
  • Oversee the construction and maintenance of the prospect pipeline;
  • Create and maintain research plans in the donor database;
  • Compile demographic and financial research reports on new prospects
  • Use research reports to develop briefings and profiles for donors for use by Gift Officers and Development Director
  • Ensure wealth screening and DonorSearch account integrations are up-to-date and working properly
  • Compile Foundations and Grant research related to campaign projects
  • Support Campaign grant writing efforts
  • Research and develop corporate giving prospects
  • Drafts proposals and apply for corporate campaign gifts
  • Assist in the Annual fundraising auction as necessary
  • ta entry as well as organizing and updating other project management software
  • Conduct data analytics on current and past donors
  • Provide general support for the Development gift acknowledgement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Desired skills and experience:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum two years of professional fundraising experience
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A critical thinker, highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Customer service focus and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with all levels of individuals.
  • Excellent time and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple high level projects simultaneously.
  • Team player who manages own workload, but can be flexible according to the needs of the team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) and database management required; experience in Tessitura Software a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Some evening and weekend work required
  • Interest in musical theater and the arts a plus
