Our mission is to ensure the voice of people with disabilities is heard on key issues, to support the health of our community through participatory research and expert policy analysis, to and empower grassroots disability leaders to transform their communities.

We need your help to bring in the revenue we need to expand our civil rights advocacy and research work. You would be working directly with our Executive Directory and our Advocacy Director as you identify and apply for grants, lead efforts to grow our individual giving program, manage our social media accounts to raise and maintain active profiles and plan our annual awards dinner and other public fundraising events.

This position would be ideal for someone who has experience in non-profit fundraising, social media management and community organizing and is excited at the prospect of taking the lead on an organization’s fundraising.

  • Oversee the building of a strong and expanding base of low-dollar individual donors
  • Pursue local and national corporative giving funds and opportunities
  • Use Network-for-Good Database to log and track donations and pledges, and ensure that all donors receive thank-you letters and charitable donation receipts.
  • Create social media posts that spread awareness about DPC and promote giving
  • Work closely with the Board to inspire greater participation with development efforts, capitalizing on the resources, talents, and networks the Board offers.

CANDIDATE SKILL PROFILE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following experience and characteristics:
  • At least 2 years experience as a development/fundraising professional at a nonprofit
  • Demonstrated passion for social justice issues, and ideally Disability Rights specifically.
  • Demonstrated success achieving fundraising goals
  • At least 1 year of social media management experience
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience using donor management software (e.g. Little Green Light, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce)

This is a full time position with benefits including 3 weeks of paid vacation and 2 weeks of paid sick time per year, fully paid dental and life insurance coverage, reimbursement of health insurance premium costs, commuter benefits, and 13 paid holidays per year. The salary range for this role is $50,000-55,000 per year.

We are committed to meeting the accommodation needs of employees with disabilities. Candidates of color, LGBTQ+ candidates, multilingual candidates, and candidates with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
