OVERVIEW:

The Digital Fundraising & Outreach Specialist oversees the growth of the online fundraising and engagement program by implementing strategies, tactics, and techniques across digital channels. The specialist will provide coordinated support of digital fundraising and engagement activities, as well as assist in coordination of outreach activities. 

REPORTS TO: Chief Strategic Partnership Officer 

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

As a member of the Development team and in partnership with the Communications team, the Digital Fundraising & Outreach Specialist will: 

  • Create successful social media fundraising and awareness campaigns and other fundraising efforts (i.e., Facebook fundraisers, Peer-to-Peer fundraising pages, etc.) to achieve overall revenue goals; 

  • Create online engagement and stewardship opportunities using social media, the organization’s website, and other online communications channels; 

  • Track and report on digital fundraising results across all channels. Maintain dashboards and pull analytics reports for online appeals, web traffic and social media, to be shared to internal stakeholders; 

  • Develop an online growth plan to acquire contact information for prospective donors (email addresses and social media handles); 

  • Assist in the upkeep of the organization’s online giving platform; 

  • Assist in the creation of video content to be used on the organization’s website and across social media channels 

  • Assist in the upkeep of the organization’s website – specifically Fundraising and Volunteer pages; 

  • Respond to comments and inquiries submitted to Metro Housing’s social media accounts and our info email inbox in a timely manner as needed; and

  • Other duties as assigned.  

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS diploma required; Bachelor level preferred; 
  • 1-2 years of social media (specifically Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter), marketing, fundraising, and/or nonprofit work experience;  

  • Experience and strong interest in online fundraising and social media strategy (publishing content, engaging audiences, and tracking results); 

  • Strong writing and graphic design skills;  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Familiarity with using WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite preferred 

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Ads a plus 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, with a commitment to teamwork consistent with a courteous, professional, and friendly work environment;  

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in stressful situations, manage several complex tasks at once, take initiative and work independently, identify and resolve problems, and/or proactively suggest solutions;  

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as needed; and

  • Experience working with diverse, low-income populations. 

PREFERENCE GIVEN TO:

  • Candidates with previous non-profit or public service/government experience. 

  • Candidates with multilingual skills (verbal and written). We are seeking candidates that speak and write English and at least one of the following languages (for interpreting and translation): Vietnamese, Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Toisanese, and Spanish.
