POSITION SUMMARY

The Foundations and Grants Manager will work with the Senior Foundations and Grants Manager to implement a strategy that expands and ensures sustainability of Phoenix programs across the country. Priority will be given to individuals who have a track record of raising funds through creating and submitting successful grant applications. This position is mostly remote with travel to the Boston, MA office 1-2 days per week for in-person meetings. A personal connection to The Phoenix mission is preferred but not required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Senior Foundations and Grants Manager with building a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes government and foundation grants to ensure sustainability and targeted growth within specific regions
  • Help develop an annual calendar of grant opportunities and reports
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with local foundation representatives
  • Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to identify new funders
  • Develop, submit, and oversee all aspects of grant writing, tracking, timelines, and reports
  • Coach regional staff through the full-cycle grant process
  • Manage grantmaker relations, including maintaining accurate donation data and acknowledging awards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to travel for meetings as necessary 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years' experience with grant writing and/or nonprofit fundraising
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to quickly adapt to change
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and computer equipment, word processing, spreadsheet applications, and email
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people from all walks of life
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, humility, and integrity
  • Lived experience as a peer in recovery preferred
