Job Summary: Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston is seeking a detail oriented, results-driven individual to manage and grow our Build Days volunteer program. This is an opportunity for someone looking to become a part of dynamic fundraising team and to contribute to the mission of helping lower to moderate income families realize their dreams of becoming homeowners.

Group volunteers play a critical role at Habitat Greater Boston as they contribute more than 50% of project labor and provide much-needed funding for our operations and construction. As we grow our construction, family services, and fundraising efforts, we are seeking an organized, creative-minded candidate to maintain and grow our Build Days volunteer program and develop more engagement opportunities for a wide range of institutional partners.

Under the leadership of the Director of Development and direct supervision of the Institutional Partnerships Manager, the right candidate will be responsible for coordinating all administrative and fundraising aspects of our Build Days group volunteering program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fielding phone and email requests
  • Facilitating cross-team and interdepartmental communication and maintaining up-to-date calendar for Build Day program
  • Collaborating regularly with Construction team on scheduling, policies, protocols, and overall program management
  • Facilitating scheduling, day-of logistics, and fielding ongoing questions from volunteer groups
  • Managing online volunteer booking and communication
  • Visiting build sites to welcome and thank volunteers, take photos, and collect quotes and social media posting materials
  • Supporting recruitment of institutional partners and serving as a cross teams’ facilitator and build sides’ event organizer
  • Coordinating regularly scheduled meetings for review of the calendar, planning purposes and general updates Creating procedures to effectively invoice, collect and track contributions/payments from Build Days
  • Assisting in creating social media and engagement content from Build Days and build sites events
  • Taking, collecting, and organizing images from Build Days and other build site events and/or activities
  • Ability to learn and use fundraising software, Bloomerang, and e-communication tools such as Constant Contact and/or Mailchimp
  • Other miscellaneous tasks assigned by Director of Development and/or Institutional Partnerships Manager

The ideal candidate will have the following skills & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Has familiarity with fundraising for mission-based non-profits
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and independently
  • Ability to take initiative and multi-task
  • Applies donor-centric approach when dealing with corporate and community groups
  • Understanding of the importance of gathering good data, maintaining consistent records, and establishing metrics to evaluate success
  • Ability and willingness to make frequent visits to various build site locations with our service area
  • Has excellent speaking and writing skills, and is comfortable with public speaking
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including occasional weekends

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience (salary range 42,000 to 46,000). Paid sick time, vacation, and holidays. 75% employer-paid health insurance, and $1,000 dental stipend.

Schedule: The schedule will be Monday to Friday, currently working three days a week in the office and two from the home office.
