EDGE Funders Alliance is seeking a full-time Programs and Communications Coordinator to contribute to the implementation of our programs and to approaches that increase the visibility of the organization to key audiences, support learning and collaboration among network members, and advance strategic goals.
This is an ideal role for someone who is interested in developing and implementing a communications approach that is integrated into and adds value to the programmatic and organizational strategies. The Program and Communications Coordinator will be a liaison across focus areas, ensure that EDGE’s projects and communications activities are aligned, and support the team to share information in ways that meaningfully contribute to our goals.
We are open to candidates based worldwide, though the Programs and Communications Coordinator must be comfortable working remotely and with colleagues located across multiple time zones since most of our members are based in the United States and Europe. We are looking for an organized and motivated professional who shares our values and is committed to building collective power for change through funder and social movement organizing.
- In partnership with the Programs Manager, develop and implement a plan for integrated communications that clearly identifies the core purpose, target audience, message priorities, most effective tactics, intended outcomes, and indicators for success.
- Contribute to the organizational communications with network members and other key stakeholders, including keeping email lists up-to-date and developing content for updates.
- Manage the digital communications channels (e.g., newsletter, social media, blog, website).
- Provide guidance and support to staff in creating text, image, and audiovisual content for grant reports and external communications products, such as blogs, articles, reports, webinars, presentations, event invitations, and campaign materials.
- Support the Director of Finance and Operations with determining internal communications needs and devising solutions that support information sharing and collaboration among the team.
- Develop methods to collect, assess, and report on the effectiveness of communications activities, including surfacing insights and areas of improvement.
- Support the design and implementation of EDGE’s programs, including taking the lead on the following tasks: scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, organizing logistics, documenting key information, providing tech support, coordinating speakers and translators, and sending follow up materials.
- Lead the Funders for Real Change project with the support of the Program Manager
- Create and maintain a program and communications calendar to coordinate activities.
- Participate in meetings, convenings, and webinars to maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in communications, social movements, and philanthropy.
- Assist with partnership opportunities with network members, social movements, civil society organizations, and funders to advance field learning and build effective alliances.
- Lead and participate in planning retreats, team building, and regular check-in meetings with staff and board.
- Build and manage relationships with external consultants, as needed.
- Experience working in a programmatic or communications role in the nonprofit or philanthropy sectors, preferably in an international context.
- Demonstrated history of creating, implementing, and assessing detailed communications plans.
- Proven ability to organize programs, meetings, and activities in virtual and global contexts. Facilitation skills are an asset.
- Aptitude for balancing multiple projects at once.
- Ability to produce content in a timely manner and for a variety of audiences.
- Knowledge of some or all of the following is an asset: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Online Office Tools, Asana, Zoom, ConstantContact, WordPress, iMovie, Canva
- Capacity to self-manage, multitask, prioritize, work collaboratively, diagnose problems and find creative solutions, and learn from mistakes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native speaker-level). Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is considered an asset.
- Comfort working in a remote, decentralized, multicultural team and the flexibility to work across time zones.
- Ability to travel at least once a year for a staff retreat, our annual conference, and other programmatic convenings
- Understanding of and identification with EDGE’s mission and work and a commitment to social justice, systems change, international collaboration, and cross-cultural learning
WHAT WE OFFER
The Program and Communications Coordinator is a full-time position with an employee contract. The benefits will comply with the labor laws of the country where the person is based and will include, at minimum, health care coverage and retirement benefits.

We anticipate holding screening calls the week of June 6th, holding first-round interviews the weeks of June 13th and 20th, and holding final interviews the week of July 11th. However, this schedule could change. Finalists will be asked to submit three references, and an offer will be made upon completion of the reference checks. We expect to make an offer in mid-August.
