JOB DESCRIPTION - SAIL SALEM PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Who We Are: We are a Community Youth Sailing program that provides an opportunity for 350 - 500 youngsters to learn to sail and to develop a life-long connection and appreciation of our oceans and waterways.
Who you Are: You are a responsible, enthusiastic and energetic leader who will interact directly with campers and sailing instructors to create and foster a culture of fun, safety and respect for sailing and the environment. In your role, you will be asked to model and manage effective instruction and have a good understanding of the sailing environment. You are comfortable in communicating clear expectations to instructors and campers as well as to the parents of the campers.
What’s the Time Commitment? This position is full time (100%) in the June - August period while the program is in session. It is part- time for the remainder of the year with flexible hours and some weeks with little or no hours.
Anything Else? What can you get out of the sailing program director position? In this role you will have the opportunity to learn and/or further develop key skills in a multitude of disciplines, including program management, finance and facilities under the guidance of seasoned and dedicated volunteers. We are committed to helping you thrive.
And do I get paid to have all this fun? Yes! You'll earn $1,000 per 40 hour week June -August (14 weeks) and $25 per hour throughout the remainder of the year (estimated at 80-120 hours).
