About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about driving our equitable technology mission forward and who is looking to be the first individual in an IT role on staff at the foundation as we transition from outsourced IT support. Reporting to our Vice President of Operations, the Sr. IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for administering our systems, establishing software and hardware policies and practices, and training and supporting staff. In this role, you will partner with the entire team to understand how we use software and hardware systems, and subsequently look to improve them. You will have the opportunity to look at our overall infrastructure and develop practices in security and data management as well as network and system architecture while engaging regularly with staff to troubleshoot and provide best practices to maximize efficient use of our technology.

Things you’ll do in your first year:

  • Serve as the system and network administrator for the Foundation, designing, maintaining, and securing all systems

  • Establish and own processes and procedures for software and hardware procurement, deployment, asset management, and refresh

  • Configure new machines and provide day-to-day helpdesk support to employees as needed, virtually for now

  • Provide training to staff, in partnership with other members of the Operations and People team, on new technology solutions as well as best practices that will improve the overall people experience

  • Develop and carry-out appropriate on-boarding and off-boarding processes

  • Identify and implement technology solutions in support of overall strategy to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness as we scale, automating wherever possible

  • Develop a plan for in-office technology needs in the future to include participating in a process for determining and selecting any technology, audio, and/or visual equipment and providing on-going support for those systems once installed

  • Support the development of a holistic IT strategy for the Foundation, both in our current state and as we continue to grow, to include security, data management, incident response management, disaster preparedness, and backup and restore procedures
