BOSTON, September 10, 2026–Philanthropy Massachusetts (PMA), the leading statewide organization serving both philanthropy and nonprofits, has appointed Claire Cooper as Vice President of Member Programs & Engagement. Beginning September 17, Claire will lead the design and execution of high-quality programs that improve the experience of PMA members and strengthen the state’s philanthropy ecosystem.
Formerly a vice president with both The Partnership Inc. and the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, Claire brings more than 15 years of experience leading programming within member organizations spanning the business, nonprofit, and civic sectors.
PMA Chief Executive Officer Mary Skelton Roberts said: “Claire is well respected as a convener across a wide spectrum of organizations and stakeholders. We are thrilled that she is joining the PMA team. Her ability to integrate our LEAP (Learn, Engage, Act, Partner) strategic framework across all our programming is just what we need.”

Claire serves on the boards of several nonprofits dedicated to expanding access to health care and is a member of the Health Equity Compact. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Government & Legal Studies and Religion from Bowdoin College and graduated from The Partnership’s Next Generation Executive Program. An avid reader and foodie, Claire enjoys exploring New England independent bookstores and local scratch bakeries.
